      • Know how the Supervisor module fits into your BusinessObjects system.
      • Become familiar with the main functions of the different types of supervisors and their associated tasks.
    • Introduction to the course scenario
      • Introduces you to the business scenario which provides the context for future discussions and course workshops.
    • Making the Repository
      • Learn the differences between monolithic and distributed repositories, and how different repository architectures impact performance.
      • Make a repository and verify the location of the security files and their configurations.
      • Run a safe recovery to recover a .KEY file.
    • Implementing Groups and Users
      • Know the concepts of groups, inheritance, and customization.
      • Make and manage user and group access to modules, commands, universes, and documents.
      • Learn best practices for organizing users and groups to balance performance and ease of administration.
      • Learn how to automate the process for making groups, users, and user properties by importing the relevant information from a text file.
    • Command Restrictions
      • Learn how to define and override the access various groups and users have to the commands in the User, WebIntelligence, Designer, and Supervisor modules of BusinessObjects.
      • Know the configuration issues relating to command restrictions.
    • Distributed Repository Architecture
      • Make a distributed repository.
      • Allocate universe and document domains to different groups. Know the technical specifications for setting up a repository server, and the advantages and disadvantages of multiple domains on multiple database platforms.
